Sir John A. Macdonald

Message for Grade 12 Students & Parents

Good evening Sir John A parents and guardians of grade 12 students.

Currently, government has directed that all schools are closed until April 6, 2020. While we do not have any specific information as yet, the HRCE and the EECD are working on strategies to ensure learning can continue. I am sending this message to grade 12 students who may need a chrome book at home to support their learning when a plan is in place.

We have a limited number of chrome books so if you have access to a desk top computer, laptop, orchrome book at home you will likely not need a school chrome book. If your student does require a chrome book at home, please complete the google form on our school website ( to book a time on Tuesday, March 24 th or Wednesday, March 25 th to visit the school to pick up the chrome book. If either of these days do not work for you, please email Agnes Greer, so
that we can make alternate arrangements. You can also leave a phone message at 902 826-3222 extension 7901096.

The school’s administration will be on-site to provide chrome books as required in a safe and efficient manner in the lobby in order to minimize contact and practice social distancing. The student and/or parent will be asked to sign for the chrome book to ensure that all out going technology has been accounted for. On orders from the Chief Medical Officer of Health, students are not permitted to retrieve items from their lockers or to meet with teachers.

On behalf of all teachers and staff at Sir John A Macdonald High School, I wish you good health as we go through these extraordinary times together.

Stay safe everyone.

Agnes Greer
Acting Principal
